　　北京时间4月9日凌晨，2024年全球唯一一次日全食在北美洲上演。此次日全食带跨越墨西哥、美国、加拿大境内的大片陆地区域，当地人可观看到最长4分28秒的日全食过程。这也是2010年以来最长的一次观测时长。

　　A total solar eclipse was sweeping across North America on Monday, as residents and visitors gathered in different locations on the path of the eclipse to watch and cheer. Totality reached Mazatlán at 11:07 a.m. Pacific Time, and lasted for a little more than four minutes.

　　这次日全食仅在北美洲地区发生。墨西哥首先观测到日全食，随后美国15个州依次观测到，加拿大的部分省也看到此次日全食。

　　The path of the eclipse continued from Mexico, entering the United States in Texas, and traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan could also experience the total solar eclipse, according to NASA.

　　Many cities in the path hosted public viewing events and gave away eclipse safety glasses. At several zoos, researchers joined citizen observers to watch how animals behaved.

　　美国总统拜登当天还在X平台上发文称，日食值得惊叹。但别犯傻了，伙计们——安全起见，戴上防护眼镜。帖文随附视频画面中，拜登站在白宫的阳台上，戴上防护眼镜望向天空。

　　不少网友也觉得这是在暗指前美国总统特朗普，并贴出特朗普当年不戴墨镜观测日食的图片，发文玩梗“日食观测史上的重要时刻”。

　　美国《国会山报》还称，拜登的提醒可以被视为对前总统特朗普的“挖苦”，后者2017年被拍到没有戴防护眼镜观看日食：特朗普当时与妻子梅拉尼娅和孩子在白宫的阳台上观赏这一景象，他当时一度摘下防护眼镜，抬头看着太阳指着天空。

　　According to The Hill, the Biden White House advice could be seen as a dig at Trump, who was famously photographed in 2017 watching a solar eclipse without the protective glasses. As he viewed the rare event from the Blue Room Balcony at the White House with wife Melania and son Barron, Trump could be seen momentarily removing his glasses and looking up at the sun while pointing to the sky.

　　当天，外国网友整活，名为“NASA Moon(美国宇航局月亮)”的账号以月亮的口吻@了“NASA Sun & Space(美国宇航局太阳&太空)”账号，并说“不好意思，我又来了”。这里一语双关，后者被设置为不可见，也暗指月亮挡住太阳形成日全食。

　　日食分日全食、日环食和日偏食。当月亮运动到太阳和地球中间，月亮、太阳、地球刚好在一条直线时，就会发生日食现象。日全食是在地球上的部分地点太阳光被月亮全部遮住的天文现象。因为没有处在日食带上，我国这次完美“避开”了日食。

　　A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

　　美国宇航局称，下一次美国本土可见的日全食要等到2044年8月23日。

　　After the total solar eclipse on Monday, the next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States will be on Aug. 23, 2044, according to NASA.
