　　It’s easy to forget that Taiwanese actress and producer, Ruby Lin, is 47 this year. The doe-eyed beauty, who first made a name for herself playing Ziwei in the iconic 1998 drama My Fair Princess, hardly looks a day over 40.

　　人们很容易忘记中国台湾女演员兼制片人林心如今年已经47岁了。这位有着小鹿眼的美女因出演1998年的经典电视剧《还珠格格》中的紫薇而首次成名。如今的她看起来还不到40岁。

　　The large age gap between Ruby and her daughter became a topic of discussion between the star and host Quan Yifeng in the latest episode of Hear U Out.

　　在最新一期的《权听你说》节目中，林心如和女儿之间巨大的年龄差距成为了林心如和主持人权怡凤讨论的话题。

　　2016年，林心如与演员霍建华结婚。一年后，他们迎来了女儿“小海豚”。两人极力保护孩子的隐私。在接受采访时，林心如表示，“有了女儿后，我意识到母亲对女儿的爱是无限的。”

　　Ruby tied the knot with actor Wallace Huo, 43, in 2016, and they welcomed their daughter ‘Little Dolphin’ a year after. Although the couple is fiercely protective about their six-year-old’s privacy, Ruby's joy is palpable everytime she speaks of her Little Dolphin.

　　2016年，林心如与43岁的演员霍建华喜结连理。一年后，他们迎来了女儿“小海豚”。虽然这对夫妇极力保护他们六岁孩子的隐私，但每次说起她的小海豚，林心如都很开心。

　　When asked by Yifeng about her favourite roles to take on in life, Ruby says it's being a mother and a daughter without a second’s hesitation. “I think that’s the most blissful thing. After having my daughter, I realised that a mother’s love for her daughter is really limitless,” she says.

　　当被权怡凤问到她一生中最喜欢的角色是什么时，林心如说，是毫不犹豫地当上母亲和女儿。“我认为这是最幸福的事情。有了女儿后，我意识到母亲对女儿的爱是无限的。”

　　不过，她承认自己非常清楚和女儿之间的年龄差距是非常真实的。她说道：“我不希望她像我一样，等到40岁才结婚。到那时，我就80岁了。我还能见到我的孙女吗?”

　　She, however, regrets having her daughter at 40. “I feel like it’s the best time to raise a child, because I’m [financially] stable and a lot more mature. But I also feel like it’s too late because we have a 40-year age gap. From the day I delivered her, I’ve been thinking [about how] I would be 60 by the time she’s 20,” explains Ruby.

　　然而，她后悔在40岁时生下女儿。“我觉得现在是养孩子的最佳时机，因为我(经济上)稳定了，也成熟了很多。但我也觉得太迟了，因为我们有40岁的年龄差距。从我生下她的那天起，我就一直在想，等她20岁的时候，我已经60岁了。”

　　“I don’t want her to be like me and wait until 40 to get married. By then, I’ll be 80. Would I even get to see my granddaughter?” laments Ruby with a chuckle. Ruby also says she will try her best to dissuade her daughter from joining showbiz.

　　“我不希望她像我一样，等到40岁才结婚。到那时，我就80岁了。我还能见到我的孙女吗?林心如轻声笑着哀叹道。林心如还表示，她将尽最大努力劝阻女儿不要进入娱乐圈。
