Millennials -- the generation loosely defined those born after 1981 through 1996 -- have gotten a bad rap for supposedly being unprepared and overly reliant on their parents.

But research shows that they make ideal employees: A study from ManPowerGroup found that millennials are working harder than other generations, putting in more than 45 hours per week, with 21 percent taking on another job to make ends meet.

More than one in three (35 percent) working Americans are millennials, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of US Census Bureau data.

And 66 percent of people in that age group are expected to work past age 65, with 12 percent saying they likely would never retire.

What's more, millennials are less likely to use all of their paid time off, according to ProjectTimeOff.com.

Millennials are also more likely to take on work that is meaningful to them, but they tend to blur work and life together, often checking emails and remaining "on" during after-work hours.

New Yorkers may act tough, but we're softies when it comes to tipping.

The Big Apple is home to the nation's highest average tip amounts for Lyft drivers, according to the ride-sharing service.

New York City ranks first among US cities and regions, followed by Westchester County, Dallas, Detroit and San Jose, Calif.

The largest tip from a New Yorker last year was $1,000.

According to officials, Lyft drivers have earned more than a half-billion dollars in tips, with more than half of them being given in 2017.

The average tip amount increased by 8 percent last year, officials said.

The data also showed that drivers who work on Friday and Saturday nights are 35 to 40 percent more likely to receive a tip.
