  3、This has not been easy because I own over a thousand books.

  但这并不容易,因为我有1000多本书。

  语言点 have, own, possess都表示“拥有”,它们的区别如下:

  1) Have = have got 常用在 口语中;

  2) own强调合法地拥有某物;

  3) possess更突出从属关系。

  4、To make matters worse, the room is rather small, so I have temporarily put my books on the floor.

  更糟糕的是房间还非常小,所以我暂时把书放在了地板上。

  语言点1本句中so引导并列句

  语言点2to make matters wo撕是一个插入语,表示递进关系,起到进一步补充说明的作用。

  to make matters worse 相当于 worse than all, what is worse。

  语言点 3 rather =fairly =quite 相当;十分;彻底

  5、At the moment, they cover every inch of floor space and I actually have towalk on them to get in or out of theroom.

  这会儿,书占据了地板的所有空隙,我实际上只得踩着这些书进出房间。

  语言点1 at the moment - at thistime 这会儿

  语言点2 space =room表示“空间”,作“空间”讲时两词都是不可数名词。

  语言点3 getin or out of somewhere 进出某地方

  6、A short whileago, mysister helped me to carry one of my old bookcases up the stairs.

  几分钟前,我妹妹帮我把一个旧书柜抬上了楼。

  语言点1 help sb. to do sth. = help sb. do sth.带某人做某亊

  语言点2 carry sth. up the stairs把某物/抬到楼上

  7、She went into my room and got a big surprise when she saw all those books on the floor.

  她走进我的房间,当她看到地板上的那些书时,大吃一惊。

  语言点1:本句中when引导时间状语从句。

  语言点2:get a big surprise大吃一惊  

  8、"This is the prettiest carpet I have ever seen,"she said.

  “这是我见过的最漂亮的地毯,”她说。

  语言点:本句中形容词最高级prettiest修饰carpet,而修饰carpet的定语从句I have ever seen前省略了引导词that。  

  9、She gazed at it for some time then added, "You don,t need bookcases at all. You can sit here in your spare time and read the carpet!"

  她盯着“地毯”看了一会儿,又补充道你根本用不着书柜,有空的时候你可以坐在这儿读地毯!”

  语言点:gaze at = stare at =focus on 盯着看
