　　一般现在时主要表示经常发生的动作、经常存在的状态以及客观真理等。

　　(1)表示经常性、习惯性的动作，如：

　　I always go to bed at nine o'clock.

　　我通常九点睡觉。(注： always 表示经常发生的动作，使用一般现在时)

　　I go to the library once a week.

　　我每周去一次图书馆。(注： once a week 表示“每周一次”,使用一般现在时)

　　(2)表示客观存在的事实和真理，如：

　　The earth is bigger than the moon.

　　地球比月亮大。(注：地球和月亮的大小是客观存在的事实)

　　(3)表示状态和感觉的动词常常用一般现在时，如：

　　My mother is very happy.

　　我母亲非常开心。(注：is表明的是一种状态)

　　The soup tastes delicious.

　　这个汤尝起来很美味。(注： taste 为感官动词，常常使用一般现在时)

　　(4)表示按计划、规定将要发生的动作，如：

　　The meeting begins at ten.会议十点开始。

　　The train leaves at nine o'clock tonight.火车于今天晚上九点出发。

　　(注：上面两个例句都表示的是按计划、规定即将发生的动作)
